Conceptualize, design and layout news and sports sections for Gannett owned newspapers. Newspapers include; The IndyStar, The Courier-Journal, The Lafayette Journal & Courier, and The Muncie Star Press. Designs and layouts are produced through various mediums including but not limited to; Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, NewsGate, CCI, and hand drawing/painting. Photograph community engagements, practices, and events for Chiefs’ website and social media outlets. Assist in structuring the team’s existing photo archive, and improve current import/editing work flow. Covering University events, local sporting events and nationally recognized events. I was also responsible for covering other teams when a photographer for that team is not present or if photographs are requested. I also helped in designing and implementing graphics for promotional material.

Online Website Design, Photography, Social Media, News Design and Headline Editor. The position called for someone who can bring in new and innovative ideas. I was also the head Photographer, Designer, and Social Media Editor for the publication. During my time with the Echo we achieved 40+ state and national awards including "Top Cristian University Publication in the U.S." and Top Journalism Website in the State of IN, beating out powerhouses such as Indiana University and Ball State University. I built our two Twitter feeds @TheEcho_Taylor and @TheEcho_Sports, the Facebook page and both of our websites TheEchoNews.com alongside our online sports publication Trojan Nation.

From Photography to Ad Design and everything in-between, my job as a creative Intern is to learn the full scale production of the newspaper. My job also in-tales innovation and bringing new ideas or helping in current decisions that involve the presence of the newspaper. I also built and created the sister publication's (The Downtowner) first website.

 

NAIA National Track and Field Head Photographer at NAIA

May 2013 - May 2013 

As the head photographer for the second year I had much more foreknowledge of the event. Once again as the Head Photographer I had to produce photographs of over 420 student athletes and over a total of 30,000 photographs. The entire event took place over 4 days and required me to be available at all hours as heats would begin at 5am and end at 1am everyday.

NAIA National Baseball Championship Photographer at NAIA

I was the head photographer for the midwest opening round of the NAIA National Baseball Tournament. My duties included; photographing top performing players, shooting for NAIA commercial use, and on the spot photo uploading to the NAIA headquarters. I enjoyed the opportunity to work with some of the top baseball players in the nation and got great professional experience.
